iTorah - Deluxe Bible with English & Commentaries app good for
After the holidays can you please fix. Back you carrying hardcover.
This is the Cadillac of Torah apps.
This program is like all the Torah related apps by crowded road...incredible! Word search, hyperlinked commentaries, interlinear translation which can appear and disappear with a tap...
It is very important to mention how excellent the customer service is. They usually always reply that day, they are very friendly and cooperative and want you to be happy with your purchase. They are committed to improving an already wonderful product. Any bugs you may find or suggestions you may have to make the app run smoother, they want to know!
Highly reccomended.
This app, much like iTalmud & iMishna, is very, very well done. And it gets better as it is updated all the time. A perfect addition to the other fine apps and a treasure for on-the-go learning. Yasher koach.
Im not usually the one to write reviews, buy this app really deserves it so here I am.
The devs were both helpful and friendly when enquiring about the app and definitely went the extra mile beyond what was required.
More about the app itself now. The layout is nice and organised and having both רש״י and the רמבן in your hand like that is an incredible feat. The only fault I could find was that the English could be more integrated, but Im sure theyre working hard on that.
The app may seem expensive, but its a bargain when you compare it with what youre receiving.
An A+ Torah/Bible app. The built-in audio lectures and internlinear english translations make this a superb app!
Its great for school .
And I cant wait for the נ״ך
App to come out.
Some bad moments
Very Good try, but not a good Audio. Can hardly hear it. Not worth 13.99 EUR. Bad quality. Was intending to use it to practice hebrew talking, but can forget it.
Crowded Road has provided an elegant face to their product, but left out some of the most crucial features for the user. Aside from preparing a class, the most common modes of Chumash study are either to learn the daily shiur Chumash, to review the sedra with Targum Onkelos, or to prepare the kriah. None of these is facilitated or even possible with this version. Nikud is missing, never mind taamim and Onkelos. Theres no one-step jump to todays shiur Chumash. Neither is it possible to view the mikrah together with commentaries on a single screen.
Other chumash apps do provide the above features--but none of them in a single package. In short, I paid $17 for an app for which I will have little use--outside of access to the Ramban. This is especially a shame when considering the mediocrity and flaws of all the competing Chumash apps. My only consolation is the hope that Crowded Road will get their act together and upgrade us all to something truly worth the price.
I just downloaded on my iPod touch 5 and its only a black screen showing the green battery symbol at the top of the screen. Doesnt work at all.
Dont get if you want to waste monies on an app that wont work on IOS 10
Rashi and Ranban translations are in Hebrew ONLY. Would not of bought if that was made clear in the product description.
Translation is the old style public domain jps translation. Again would not of bought if this was made clear.
Thus thou left me very disappointed
$16.99 for something that is repackaged and Freely available on the net and elsewhere for iPhone.
Skip this one!
iParasha is now available for $5. The competition is fierce. iParasha has the better English translation and excellent navigation. Im lowering my rating here because even though you have Rashi, I cant use it!!!
Start original review below...
First, its the Torah on my iPhone so Im both thrilled and grateful.
Second, it isnt perfect yet. I was surprised that the Hebrew was true Torah - without vowels. Fine. If Im ever going to learn to read from the scroll, this will help. But, thats not likely to happen soon and I would live the option to add vowels.
Next, I get crashes. Lots of them. It wouldnt bother me as much if this was a five dollar app but this is sixteen dollars. Please provide a fix. Im on the 3GS.
I agree with another reviewer about the commentaries being in Hebrew. This is showcased as a Torah for English speakers. All the audio files are in English, although with heavy use of Hebrew. Please provide the Rashi and Ramban in English.
Finally, thank you for making this available. This book has never been out of print since the day Guttenberg invented the press.
